Just reading mixmag ..... the reality TV winner is one of the new 2007 residents of Sankey Soap, Manchester. I may be wrong this 'dj' had 6 months practice then went to Ibiza, and is now a resident DJ at one of the top clubs in the country? does anyone know if she had any interest in dance music before her 6 months practicing? has she got the job cos she's in the public eye? interested to know what you think on this ....

I agree........Someone in the office said she was voted the worst dj in 2006.

ha ha les battersbys played in leeds a couple of times at the place with a revolving dancefloor lol
on corrie he did some awfull wedding dj'ing or summat and next thing he was getting booked all the time wtf
i've heard kate lawler is supposed to be quite good she did glass house not long back and was apparently ok
i could not see sankeys just giving her a residency just for being famous surely sankeys are not that desperate and know the sort of clubber who goes there wont settle for "shite music played from that bird from big brother"
i always thought its just the ritzy type clubs that have "live guest apperences from dean gaffeny etc"not your serious dance music venues

Think she was on the front of a Ministry of Sound compilation CD before she went in Big Brother. Not sure whether that qualifies here like, but here's a piece from her website biography..

On my return to England I vowed to save up, buy some decks and be DJing within a year. When Celebrity Wrestling finished filming in early 2005, my journey began.
Locking myself away for 6 months I originally thought would be hell. But looking back, It was such good fun learning how to DJ and I cant wait to learn lots more. I know I have a long way to go before I really fulfill the ultimate dream, but I am having the most fun finally playing out."
saw her in some dodgy club in newquay last summer, was quite good as well, though she wasnt half as fit as what she looks like in the pics
But anyway, sounds like fair play to me, got the bug the same way as everyone else, but has just used her name.. but who wouldnt?

Well said matey. shes top, im abit of a sankeys freak meself. i loved her set from sankeys in november, for the time shes bin dj-ing i think shes shit hot and got the body to go with it. so what if shes might of paid loads of money for leasons (thats if she has). if ne 1 has botherd to listen to one of her sets u will see thats shes gud enough to play in sankeys thats y shes there. I dont know many people that have said "o kate lawlers on at sankeys we'll have to go there" sankeys is always hammerd no matter whos on.

One of my favourite Djs is Nick Warren and he doesnt top the bill in Ibiza very often, and he,s fookin amazin, some of the best tunes you will ever hear, and then some prick like this comes along and steals the limelight

kinda reminds me of when Nigel Benn was all the hype, massive build ups to an event near me in Bolton at a nightclub called the Temple, Nigel topped the bill, end of the night all kinds of muppets were saying he,s top him, what a Dj,but yet, havin a bit of a clue can tell ya,s that he was supershite, mismatched beats,shit scratching and in general a bad set, in fact one of the worst sets Ive heard in my life but he was top of the fuckin bill, he was paid a fortune for that.

and theres mint dj's who dont get anywhere, at the end of the day she took an opportunity and made the most of it. Its just like any walk of life.

Saw her at Berties Niteclub in Newquay last year, thought her tune selection was bland, only bonus was she had next to fook all on clothes wise and was flaunting it like there was no tomorrow
