My personal fave is one by a Huddersfield DJ called POCO from 1991 at Kaos at hudds poly.. Quality tape..but sadly gone west.
On number of plays and impact its pezz castlemorton for me.. it always lifted me up when I needed most 
My most played mixtape was a Matt Bell Zone mix from 92 (I upped it on OSA a while back).
Although Vertigo 11 (athough coming from down south I always knew it as a Sasha mix) is my favoritephones:

best tape ever... mine is from the hac late 89 fri's nude night with pickering and park, my first real acid house experience..... whent into the club as a die hard northern soulie who hated anyhting else, came out a complete convert and whent every fri for the next 6 mounths when none of us could get in because of the search policy.
The musics just awsome from jacking house like laurent X to the mad 1/2 hour and all that bleepy stuff when everyone was completly......
then as always at the hac he slows it down with inner city what you gonna do and finially sctatchin 'its its over, over' on top of feldofatti just wanna touch me, then about 10 mins of manic applause as the finish bang on 2 o clock ( not a minute longer) anyone else heard this?
although I love sasha 90 and 91 stuff esp the shabbo stuff this hac tape is just incomparable.

Best mix I have is circa 1992 donated by a friend simply titled time to chill. Has got some living up to as top a a very large pile of tapes...2000+
Tracklisting is cool and quality of mixing can not be faulted.

Well mine would have to be a tape done by Steve Higginson (Monroes) '92. This guy and my friend came to the rescue of monroes in my opinion. We were both 18 at the time and ste had only been Dj-ing a year. Monroes had gone stale for some time, same djs and same mixes week after week and the crowd seemed like it had been instituionalised or something! Anyway, Steve started to move away from Italian house and started exploring different labels, DJs and producers. Realising he wasn't going to win over the crowd at monroes overnight he introduced the new music over a period of a couple of weeks, which isn't long but what made it easier was that he could mix superbly and he could Scratch just as well as any DJ from Chicago, so my best mixed tape is Steven Higginson '92. A real blend of past, present and future all brought together by the art of Dj-ing

POCO? Ive never heard of him 1991 if you can show me the flyer KAOS Huddersfield Polly with his name on ? he may have given you the tape of the night but playing then??? bearing in mind even at 18 he would be 34 Doubtfull as me Tony and Sasha did it at that time.Ive got the video
