According to a radio dj i spoke to he says every dj needs certain liciences 3 in total to have the right permissions to broadcast in pubs or clubs or even on the radio as its still to a live crowd weather its 1 person or 10 thousand poeple listening you are still being payed to play music and every track you play you need to pay royalty's on them pubs with background music are susposed to pay royalty's
if your found not to be registered you can be prosecuted for copyright
i am only going on what i was told

every club n pub should have a ppl licence n entertainment licence, so if they have, then the dj that plays there is covered by the pub or club. if no licence is held by either, then you are breaking the law, same goes for broadcasting, i do chorley fm n there licences cover me to play.

i think also with some of the licenses, that you have to be nominated by a person that holds a licence, i know one of the licences @ cfm you had to have a nominator, cant remember now if it was to do with music that one though, i maybe well off.

btw if you dont get paid for playin tunes, then you cant get done. internet radio right now is a diffo ball game to FM radio, but will probs change in a few years with the law.
