Hi guys,

In November I spotted a copy of Twist - I'll be there on Discogs for a mere (or what I thought was a mere!) £35 + p+p from a chap in Germany. I checked his feedback and all was good. After paying for the item I was told that the item was despatched and that I could not contact the seller for a month as he was away. I have had no record or any communication from the seller. I requested PayPal investigate and I won. However, since he has no money in his paypal acount, they cannot refund my monies. I have since checked his feedback again and low and behold he has done this to at least 8 people and I believe he has obtained quite a few quid fraudulently.
Although this is fraud on a small scale, it's still fraud and feel there is little I can do as lives (apparently) in Germany.
Have any of you had a similar problem to me? Or can anyone advise on what I could do? Not particularly to get my money back, but to at least try and get this scrotum sweating and try and illiminate somebody else getting ripped off. I don't mind pursuing this person because this sort of thing really pisses me off but I just don't know where to start.
Can anyone help?

Cheers

Unfortunately with paypal, this is the main drawback. If the seller obtains the funds, then clears his account, as you have said the money can't be refunded. I think its appalling people try stunts like this, but as discogs take a neutral stance on the marketplace, it does allow the odd fraudulent seller to perate (Although they are still in the minority) The other problem is that even if banned on that username, he could still re-appear in a new guise. Never good getting stung

Not far from Tesco's
I'm having a similar issue and feel that I will also loose my money (30 quid)
I am now asking for an address from other people he/she has bought from! It helps that these people have also left neg feedback so a good chance they will be willing to help me with the address.

Fleetwood - twinned with Royston Vasey
Report it the Police.

This is theft.

Thieves need prosecuting.

So do your bit and at least stop the bastard doing it again.

I got ripped from a guy in USA a couple of years back.

Reported it as internet theft on a US Police website - took about 15 minutes to complete.

Het presto! Full money back and the local plod even called round to confirm I had got the money back.

The Police in the USA asked them to do it !

This is kinda what I had in mind but don't know whether to contact UK authorities or the German plod. I hate thieves with a passion and would love to get this tnuc sorted.

Cheers guys.................I will let you know what happens as I hope I can nail this git and hope it helps nobody else get stung.
