Again not NS but this is deffo in my fave top 10 ever, and reminds me of Jonno lol. How anyone can keep still when this bad boy is on beyond me. I love it really loud:

YouTube - Groovin With Mr. Bloe - Mr. Bloe (With Annabelle)
They miss the first few beats out on youtube there, which is annoying as it detracts from the build up.

Some interesting facts on the song:

"Groovin' With Mr Bloe", written by Bo Gentry,Bernard Cochrane,→ P. Naumann & K. Laguna, and featuring Harry Pitch on harmonica, and Elton John on piano, entered the UK singles chart on 9 May 1970, peaking at No.2 on June 27. It was denied the number one spot by "In the Summertime" by Mungo Jerry. In total "Groovin' With Mr Bloe" spent 18 weeks in the chart.

More Bloe bullshit:

This was originally released in the USA by a band called WIND as Groovin With Mr Bloe.

It was covered by a band who put their name as Mr Bloe.

The US version is far better.

Does the version by Wind have Elton on? I would love a clip of it if you have it, as i only have the one by Mr Bloe here on vinyl and can't find a sample of the other.

north west
Gayle Adams - Baby I Need Your Loving

bit more modern than some of those listed and you may argue that it's not northern soul at all :)
seen this played at northern soul nights and thought it was a very good record..I know it's a cover version of the four tops, but this version seems to work at the nights I've been to
