07's are about pound lighter then mine from standard, and them forks are the bomb!
I'll bet its about the 35lbs mark now, and thats good for a full bouncer...

Cheers Dave:thumbsup:

Just had a look on ebay and the wheels are the standard ones, not those shown apparently (guessing they're the 200 quid ones:S ).

You reckon it's worth it then?:S I've seen a new one for 600 and read that the forks are pretty good on those too, so that makes you wonder if it's worth buying a used bike.

Another thing that's put me off with them a bit tho mate is that the teocali comp's are supposed to have weak bearings and i've heard it'll cost 150 quid to replace a set:crazy: Suppose it's a case of trying to get the best stuff for the pricepoint tho and it's a fun bike and a good ride then you can overlook that if it's not a regular thing to go wrong.

I still really want the marin quake 7.1, but don't like the idea of leaving something so expensive in the shed, so might go for something like the teocali so I can sleep at night:|

Gonna have to have a think about it mate, but much appreciated for helping me find one:thumbsup: Didn't think it would be so bloody hard to decide what to get:crazy: :p

Wheels at 200, forks at 180 ish, tyres at 40, eastons at about 60, lock ons are 15, so that's 20 for the frame in effect...
The standard wheels should be wtb speedisk if i recall...
The poplock forks make an already good climber unbeatable... you weight up the front before a climb, lock the forks down, to say about 80mm or less, and where i have to keep the weight down and forward to climb, on that bastard you keep sat nicely in the saddle!
That bikes worth every penny and it's done fuck all miles, mines done about 600 allready!
I heard the story about the swingarm bearings too, but if you drive any full susser through mud and ain't religious with the maintenance that's gonna be an issue if you pay a 5 spot or 2 grand to be honest...

mm 2008?
wtb speed disc about 80 to a oner,2 kenda kevlar 'Gals, 25 each, tubes fiver, wtb saddle about 25, dunno how to value the Goose own brand seat tube, bars and stem.. say a oner? front forks 230 ish, rear shox about 120, Sram x5 shifters 50 the pair, sram boggo cassette about 20, rSram rear mech 30, shimano front mech about 30, chainrings crank and bb come in at about 50 in deals from say merlin or chain reaction, then the frames gotta be worth about 250 ish on the secondhand market
standard tektro brakes are about 80 the pair with rotors

The extra weight in a 2008 HAS to be in the forks, but they are sooooo nice i dont wanna change em just for the sakes of it!

It's getting harder and harder to find a great bike without spending a fortune, chaps   :S

Running out of ideas now as ebay hasn't thrown up any new goodies and the local and national big shops are only left with a tiny selection of bikes and many of the frames for those are too small:|

At this rate i'm gonna end up with another hardtail like a Saracen Zen :p
