Was a bit of a shocker when I saw the breaking news come in last night.

I think the people that should have guided him through life let him down big time, but from a musical perspective at least (his early stuff especially), and for his family, friends and fans it's a sad loss.

I actually felt very sorry for him he had been made into what he was at an early age and had obvious issues from hen on such as his race, lifestyle and even sexuality unfortuatly he had to live his life under a microscope so anything that happened in his life was scrutinized. As for the allegations innocent until proven gulity I think he will finally be able to rest. R.I.P Michael Jackson.

I think he was a senstive soul and (imo) quite likable.. (apart from the kiddie stuff but that was never proven..). Not sure about the source and theyd be aware of defamation surely...

"..Last night it was suspected his collapse could have been caused by an overdose of painkillers.

An Emergency Room source at UCLA hospital said Jackson aides told medics he had collapsed after an injection of potent Demerol — similar to morphine.

A Jacko source said: “Shortly after taking the Demerol he started to experience slow shallow breathing.

“His breathing gradually got slower and slower until it stopped.

“His staff started mouth-to-mouth and an ambulance was called which got there in eight minutes “But found he was in full respiratory arrest, no breathing and no pulse. They started full CPR and rushed him to hospital. .."

I had no time for him, he made some good tunes but then again so did Gary Glitter. He payed off someone rather than going to court to prove himself. I met a really nice couple while working in England a few years back who were Micheal Jackson daft much the same as I am Specials daft. I really feel for them and others like them because I remember what it was like when I found out about Keith Moon dying and Lennon being shot. I know what it would be like to hear about one of the Specials dying and know how gutted I would be.

I feel truly gutted for all his real fans.

I don't think it's fair to put Michael Jackson in the same catergory as Gary Glitter. At the end of the day if there was enough evidence to Jail him, as there was in the Glitter case, then no amount of money would keep him out of prison. I would agree that by paying someone off, it arouses suspicion, but then that's his choice to put it behind him and move on. However on the other hand by taking a payoff as a child's parent rather than pushing for justice doesn't really convince me that the allegations are true. The police make their investigations and obviously decided there was insufficient evidence.

very well put Ed

Why is it these days that a man is guilty, untill proved inosent, the whole thing was a media scam, they took one big Hansel and gretel style view at MJ's house, and ran it into a pile of media bollox like they always do.....anone with half a brain should be able to see that

What MJ did totally stands to reason.
Why risk the uncertainty of a court case if you don't have to?
It's easy to say "if you're innocent you've nothing to fear" but it's not a perfect world. Let's face it, even if he'd gone to court & been completely acquitted, there would still be folk who thought he was guilty anyway, just like there are folk who think he's guilty because of the payoff. He couldn't win and would be villified by some people whatever he did, so far better to get it sorted without the uncertainty and stress (and cost) of going through the courts.

Best thing i liked about Michael jackson i all ready knew this but he said to understand music is to become the sound & it so true what ever you do in music like producing, engineering, scratching, dancing, singing, playing instruments what ever it is you do have to become the sound & feel it deep inside to truly understand it! when i watch Michael Jackson it is like watching a living sound.

RIP! mate!

This is truly, truly sad, if anything ever was. Its a sad day. And its very raw. There aren't really words at a time like this.

Some peoples lack of compassion astounds me.

Time Square last night was just in utter devastation.

I sometimes wonder when people will realise that nearly every inspirational artist and creative genius that has walked this earth has been either a Pervert,Murderer,Drug Addict, Alcoholic, Delussional, Rapist, Self Harmer or Psychotic. Though all obviously very wrong, fuck all to do with their Art.....R.I.P. Mj the creative world is a much worse place.......The first birth to the grave global superstar and no doubt lived a life that none of us will ever understand regardless of our 'judgement' on what we've read. All of it is conjecture.
Thanks for the music, Rock with you and PYT are a few of my all time favourite records.

The best thing to ever happen to pop music FACT , grew up on his music amongst other things , have all his early stuff on vinyl

Billie Jean , Wanna Be Starting Something , Rock With You & Beat It are my favorites

A true musical genius and i really don't think he can ever be touched with regards to what he has achieved

And the thriller video , good god , i was so scared watching that as a young boy lmao ended up behind the couch with our kid , still scares me now tbh :$

RIP Mr Jackson ....

Yep RIP to a Pop legend. :(

I have always loved his music from the 70's and 80's. Grew up on it like so many. The Thriller video as well, we had the making of thriller and then they showed the full video after it on VHS. Love it still do. In fact Jo bought that VHS again a while ago. Used to listen to Thriller LP over and over on them little tape recorder things, got so immersed in it. Proper good memories:love:

He will be sadly missed. I am gonna remember him for his music deffo.

PS his records are still getting sampled all the time, the music is timeless
