thats shit that Chunky:| :(

looks like the ideal that everything can be kept on the 'cloud' is a flawed concept.... memories, words, music and film deffo need to be backed up with more traditional media methods

Not surprised at all.

Anything that makes money by charging subscriptions to allow 'faster access' with lots of adverts and all that bollocks is going to get shut down, also any site that has that many accounts/users is a sitting duck.

Megaupload was always too mainstream and surprised it lasted as long as it did before being shut down.

Just go deeper underground to share and grab stuff, there are thousands of better alternatives out there and always will be {newsgroups} really is where it's at.

This is correct. No matter what happens, it will be very difficult to shut down the newsgroups, unless they go after the providers. Another great thing about them is that they generally max out your connection no matter how fast and it stays maxed until the download is finished...

This new copyright law the Americans are bringing in is bad news for all of owning US music. In the UK we are able to produce a personal copy if we own the original material as well......this is why you are legally allowed to copy your own recordings of your own music onto say an IPod.

The new law I think clamps down on this for all US owned or produced material? Dont be shocked if this site is closed to the american markets due to the broadcast of music some of which may be US owned/produced on the radio!!

The Americans have now consideration when writing laws, ruled by big business and screw everybody else.

I just got an e-mail to remove Maze - Twighlight asap from my blog / mediafire with various threats :|

I replied with "Done, but not sure how my recording of a bargain bin record would affect anyone's sales and with regret as it could have introduced a lesser known band from way back to a wider audience - Your loss, not mine"
