From the beginning of his Career in 1990 King Britt has set the bar higher than most and continued that trend for over two decades. Starting out as ‘E-Culture’ on the now legendary House label Strictly Rhythm to being ‘Silkworm’ in the groundbreaking, Grammy winning ‘Digable Planets’ to starting ‘Ovum Records’ with Josh Wink to producing a raft of platinum selling records and remixes he continues to evolve as an enlightened musicologist. His label ‘FiveSixMedia’ sets an example of an individual who is able to live outside the box and show what freedom of expression truly is while assisting others to move in that space as well.
He has worked, produced and remixed everyone from Alison Moyet, Miles Davis and Ursula Rucker to Zap Mama, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Grover Washington Jr. and Macy Grey. Well known House remixes include his epic rework of John One ‘Contemplation’ and Gus Gus ‘David’ to name a few. From guiding soundtracks to Hollywood’s 'Miami Vice' to being named cultural ambassador for the City of Philadelphia King Britts talents are not simply limited to the studio and club as are so many.
A regular guest at some of the worlds greatest clubs and stages King Britt is a name that is firmly allied with quality dancefloor music in all it’s forms whether it be Funk, Soul, Disco, Hip-Hop, Deep House or beyond. Previous visits to the North West have seen him rock The Southport Weekender and Manchester’s infamous ‘Electric Chair’ to the core in the past and we are delighted to have him here in Liverpool for his debut appearance which has been long overdue.
