FILTH 3rd BIRTHDAY PART 1
Mint Club, Leeds 13th Feb
Friends and Family Birthday - for all the people that have supported us the last 3 years
MARTINEZ BROTHERS (4 HOUR SET), LUKE POMPEY, JAMIE FISCHER,
Tickets: £12
Before it all kicks off in style at the 3rd Birthday proper later this month, Filth are treating you to an intimate and very special party with New York house sensations the Martinez Brothers. The young pair is being flown in especially as thanks to all our friends and family who have supported us over the last three years – without you we are nothing!
Chris and Steve Martinez are two of the youngest and craziest people in house music. Their ‘Debbie Downer’ track from January 2009 (which was produced with Berlin based Greek producer Argy) gained much acclaim from DJs such as Josh Wink, Dubfire, Loco Dice and Sebo K and their eclectic house, techno, soulful and minimal sets – always seamlessly mixed - wowed crowds at the Winter Music Conference in Miami.
As you would expect from a young DJ pairing – they have more energy than a nuclear power plant and bounce about unstoppably in the booth at the hottest clubs around including Pacha (NYC & Ibiza), Cielo (NYC), Karu & Y (Miami) and Watergate (Berlin). Their DJing enthusiasm is unmatched and always rubs off on the crowd who mirror their playful antics - always making for an off the wall party and always nice when so many DJs are plain geeks!
The flow of a Martinez Brothers set is what stands them apart – sequencing perfect sonic journeys they don’t just go back to back – they do all the mixing cueing, effects together – climbing over one another to get involved. Their sounds are a deft mix of tech and deep house and are sure to make use of the Mint club’s fine example of a Funktion One sound system ensuring this will be as good an aural show as it is visual!
Also on is 2010 resident Luke Pompey (Style of Eye and Jamie Fischer are also semi-residents this year) who’ll lay down slices of tech house you can really shape shift to.
So, for a cosy party with close Filth friends under the Watergate style future disco LED panel which hangs above the dance floor, make sure you get yourselves down.

AND DONT FORGET:
FILTH 3RD BIRTHDAY: FAITHLESS SOUND SYSTEM LIVE
FRIDAY 26TH FEBRUARY 2010 @ THE O2 ACADEMY, LEEDS
BOOM! And Filth is 3 already. That’s 36 months of partying as hard as anyone could, to the best soundtracks possible from the freshest artists around, and that calls for a celebration of mammoth proportions. To celebrate all this, a huge festival sized line-up of the sort never seen at a Leeds club is being brought to the city.
Dance music heroes Faithless bring their Live Soundsystem to play their biggest hits, more classic tracks and hot material from their forthcoming 2010 LP ‘Calling all the Faithful’ and the O2 Academy in Leeds is going to be transformed into an all singing all dancing, colour splashed rave paradise! Faithless are known the world over for their anthemic, stadium filling dance sounds, brooding vocals and epic breakdowns, so to catch them do all that live is a rare treat.
