We've all heard the phrase 'The Real Deal', but never before has it been so fitting for the combination of our Classic House & Retro Specials and Stokes own godfather of house PETE BROMLEY!

Many of these so called 'old skool' or retro nights around the UK are nothing but so called DJs playing some old records that they heard on an old tape, then went and bought the 12"s on some internet auction site or at best they were fans the first time round, collected the records and they're playing them now to relive their youth which is all well and good, but it's not the 'Real Deal'

Many of the younger clubbing generation in Stoke On Trent are aware of Pete Bromley; but are they really? They may know him as one of the DJ's that entertains us each weekend at Reckless. They may know him as the DJ that does the 'Retro Specials' on Bank Holiday Sundays who plays 'Old Skool' records for 8 hours without a break! They may know him as the manager of local record store Global Groove or just a guy they say
hi to when they see him in the street but there's much more to Pete Bromley DJ extraordinaire!

Pete has been the city's top House DJ for the last 20 years and it has been an interesting and varied journey for him! Resident DJ at Stoke's first successful Underground Dance night 'Introspective' back in 1989 he went on to play at the infamous Shelleys Laserdome as well as other seminal clubnights across the UK.

Pete's next residency was to be at the Freetown in Hanley which would see him play alongside DJ's like Sasha & Graeme Park. This would become the stepping stone to his next residency, the legendary Golden. Pete was the main resident DJ at Golden for an amazing 11 years which saw him play with the worlds biggest DJ's bar none. During this time he played many guest appearances at places such as Cream, Renaissance, Ministry Of Sound and DJ magazine listed him as one of the most popular resident DJ's in the world! Quite an accolade seeing as he has never bolstered his career with international gigs, remixes or a recording career as 99% of producer/DJ's do these days.

After Golden's demise several years ago Pete contemplated retirement from full time DJing until he was asked to play at Reckless. The rest they say is history. The last few years have seen Pete's popularity rise and a whole new generation of house music fans in Stoke On Trent have been lucky enough to listen and dance to a DJ that has played upfront Dance music to local house fans for nearly a 1000 consecutive weekends! These Retro nights are 'real' musical education experiences from Stokes very own undisputed superstar DJ...

Come Celebrate the legendary nightclubs we had in the early 90's in little old Longton & Hanley and Remember why Stoke On Trent is where it's at when it comes to house music in the UK...

In short, every record you hear at our Classic House & Retro Specials was played first time around when it was a new record by Pete! More than likely the same copy! So if you remember grooving away circa 1990 to some classic record that changed your life, it was the same DJ playing it then as it will be on Easter Sunday @ The Sugarmill!
