The Box, which now sports 12 subs and an upgraded system, will play host to Richie Hawtin, Magda, Barem and Gaiser on Sunday May 2nd, and despite their shared genre and label, each will bring a unique sound to their sets. Ranked in 2009’s Resident Advisor top 100 poll as number one, Richie Hawtin is easily the world’s most prolific DJ. Starting the Minus label in 1998, this is the first time that he has performed at London’s most famous club, as the two come together to bring what can only be described as the biggest landmark event for 2010. His variability in sets has captured the minds and souls of not just the electronic music scene but those that think outside the box. Taking a unique stance towards the genre, he tends to take productions that little bit further challenging the listener and himself as an artist. Meanwhile, Magda has changed the vision of dance music with her weird and eclectic sounds that can vary from dark, downbeat productions to expressive tracks that are raw and emotional. Also ranked high last year, the industry’s leading female DJ secured 9th place which proves her mark on today’s scene. Next on the big night is Gaiser playing his sharp and disorienting beats live, showing how he has caught the attention of many heads over recent years, while the more organically-influenced Barem will impress audiences in both rooms with his Argentinian flavor of minimal and house, opening and closing the nights in The Box and 103, respectively. But before Barem takes to the decks, 103 will see New Yorker Ambivalent performing his brand of minimal mastery live with both he and Barem making their Ministry of Sound debuts. All 5 rooms will be open, including the loft bar which will be transformed into a chill-out area.

In this turn of clubbing history that sees two of the leaders in dance music join forces, it distinguishes the movement of the London club, re-stamping its mark in the evolution of clubbing.

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

£22 Advance // £10 from 4am

Tickets available from:

www.ministryofsound.com/tickets

www.ticketweb.co.uk // 08444 771 000

www.residentadvisor.net/mos

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

www.ministryofsound.com/club

www.youtube.com/ministryofsoundclub

www.facebook.com/ministryofsoundclub

www.twitter.com/mossaturdays

www.myspace.com/mossaturdaysessions

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _

Ministry of Sound

103 Gaunt Street

London

SE1 6DP

0870 060 0010

Nearest Tube: Elephant and Castle

_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
