Filth in May
Filth
May 8th
Mint Club, Leeds
10.30pm – 6am £12/15
Mar T, Richard Dinsdale
There’s a varied musical spread at Filth on May 8th (the first of two events this month) when Amnesia ( The World's No 2 Club - as voted for by Dj Mag readers) resident Mar T and Toolroom Knights champ Richard Dinsdale call by.
Spaniard Mar T is well known all over Ibiza for his house and techno blending sets, whilst closer to home his ‘Laughing Gas’ track topped the Beatport tech-house chart for two weeks recently. He plays all over the world and as such has the experience he needs to get the always expectant Filth crowd on their toes and bouncing.
Mar-T also has his own record label called Wow Records where he makes his own productions together with artists like Tobi Neumann, John Dahlback, Paco Osuna, Valentino Kanzyani and many more.
Also taking up centre stage in the Mint booth is occasional resident Richard Dinsdale. He’s strongly associated with Toolroom Knights – one of the foremost UK house labels and his sets and productions range from filthy funk to energising electro via rolling ravenous techno and good old fashioned house music, on labels such as Renaissance, Nervous, Global Underground, and Sunday Best. He exposes a widescreen remit and is sure to supply another tasty sound track to a Filth party.
Bank Holiday Special
Mint Club, 30th May
10.30pm, £12/15
Sebastien Leger, Format B, Danny Savage, King Tut & The Wookie
Special treat for you this time out – a one off Sunday night party to celebrate the fact that it’s Bank Holiday. What more reason do you need to shift some shapes amongst like-minded people?
French DJ and producer Sébastien Léger owns and manages his own record label, Mistakes Music, and makes house, minimal and electro of the sort that impressed Radio 1 so much they asked him to do an Essential Mix in 2008. He’s remixed Deadmau5 and Daft Punk, so if you like bubbly, big and heavy club sounds, look no further...
Also on are Format:B - a German duo of Franziskus Sell and Jakob Hildenbrand. They are a pair known for their pistol pumping tech sounds and are certainties to get the whole club fist punching and foot stomping in unison.
So, without fear of retribution on Monday, you can dance your way through Sunday eve, drenched in the pin point sound waves which burst from Mint’s Funktion One sound system, and bathed in the shades of warm red and cool blue light which beams down from the futuristic LED disco panel which hovers above the dance floor.
And, of course, the trusty Filth residents will also be on duty tonight – weaving all manner of tech, house, electro and general booty bass for your partying pleasure... thank god for Bank Holidays!
