Cosmo and Dibs (Moving Shadow)
Neil Trix (Bang-In Tunes, FBD Project)
Glenn Aston (Raindance - Birthday set)
Foo (Renegade Radio)
Following its stunning 1st Birthday party which featured rave legends Frank De Wulf and Altern 8’s Mark Archer, The Source returns with two more special guests from the heady days of the early 90’s dance scene.
Cosmo and Dibs
Taking their name from the two puppets in the classic 80’s children's television programme "You And Me", Cosmo and Dibs released a series of classic 12”s on the legendary Moving Shadow label in the early 90’s. A partnership between producer Steve Thrower and Moving Shadow label supremo Rob Playford, they were responsible for anthems such as ‘Star Eyes’, ‘Sonic Rush’ and ‘Oh So Nice’ which could be heard at every rave across the UK between 91-93 and are widely regarded as classics in the Old Skool/Hardcore scene.
Neil Trix
Originally a record shop in Coventry, Bang-In Tunes grew into an influential Jungle record label owned by Neil Trix aka FBD Project. Their first release came out in 1992 and was followed by some classic darkside in ‘93 with seminal tunes such as ‘The Core’ and ‘Breakin’ Up’ before moving towards the more ‘intelligent’ Jungle style from 1994 onwards with sister label FBD Project Records. Neil Trix and his FBD Project (Future Beyond Dance) was seen as a forward-thinking producer who along with others such as LTJ Bukem, Nookie and Blame helped shape the so-called 'intelligent’ Jungle sound whilst the rest of the scene lurched towards more ragga-orientated Jungle. Along with releases on labels such as Hardleaders and remixes for artists like Omni Trio and Future Engineers, Neil was also a regular on the DJ circuit rocking the crowds at nights such as Amnesia House and Flashback as well as being a resident at the legendary Coventry club, The Eclipse.
Aiding and abetting these two guests on the night will be The Source and Raindance resident Glenn Aston (birthday boy!) and one of Nottingham’s finest and Renegade Radio regular, DJ Foo.
Those of you that have attended the previous Source events with Frank De Wulf, DJ Sy, 2 Bad Mice, Trevor Fung, Nookie, Tango & Ratty and Doc Scott will know what to expect – great music, great people, quality sound and lighting and above all, one fantastic vibe just like the old days!
