The festival has continued to grow each year and was nominated for ‘Best European Festival’ at the UK Festival Awards in 2008 and for the ‘Best Overseas Festival’ category in 2009. In the same year the Times named SPIRIT as one of the Top 20 European Music Festivals and a program about the festival was broadcast across the MTV European Network in 16 countries.
