Festival season is beckoning; the sun is beginning to make an appearance and, of course, we are ready for action, and so should you be…
Are you an aspiring DJ ready to break free from the shackles of your local pub? Have you got what it takes to rock crowds which consist of more than just your mum and a few mates? Then read on....
We have a pair of tickets and a 1 hour DJ set at our famed Ice Cream Van - alongside the esteemed an experienced Filth residents - up for grabs for the most promising new talent. To be in with a chance of winning this awesome prize, simply record a mix (any style, about 45 - 60 minutes long, by August 1st), upload it to your favourite place and then email a link to kristan@soonnight.com. We will then listen to and rate all mixes - taking into account track selection, mixing dexterity, charm, charisma and individuality - before announcing a winner on August 9th.
As for where you’ll be playing, we’d like to introduce you to the Iced Cream Van which, over August Bank Holiday weekend, will be at the country’s largest dance music festival, Creamfields… Teaming up once again, Soonnight and Filth’s converted ice cream van is a pro DJ Booth on wheels, complete with its own meaty sound system. Online electronic music mag. and clubbing community,
Soonnight, has re-launched with a vengeance in the last 12 months and now offers up some fine electronic sounds from the likes of Filth residents Danny Savage, Luke Pompey, Chris Special, Filth & Splendour and many more, all of whom are used to rocking clubs like Sankeys, Ministry of Sound or their home at the Mint Club, Leeds. Of course, these house and techno experts will tailor their selections to match what will hopefully be a blazing summer sun, ensuring just the right vibe as they always do at their monthly club events.
Over the entire weekend and until 12pm each night, the Iced Cream van offers a break from the norm and makes for an ad hoc showcase of some of the freshest new talent from the worlds of underground house and techno, all with the usual twist of freaky festival fun.
After last year’s appearances at T in the Park, Global Gathering, Spring Break, Glade and out in Ibiza, in 2010 the Iced Cream is making but one special appearance aside from this one in Cheshire, and that will be at the most recognisable festival on the planet, Glastonbury. So, make sure you keep an eye out for us this summer…
Good luck!
