had my best clubbing nights at bowlers.. :D :fekked:

the size of the place..the fact that you could just run round like a loon when k-klass got dropped.

the people, jane & lorraine, sam with the rupert pants , cheryl & liz, michelle & leona and the padiham crew...meeting my first love there...we used to meet up at the back whenever dina carroll - ain't no man came on, usually last song, we did that for weeks before we actually got together.

waiting all week just to go there & scraping the pennies together..

sale water park afterwards..watching people of their nut try and catch geese.. :cops:

it was just ace..

I went a a fair few times when it first started but I was still having my love affair with Legends and could never get into the massive arena thing - still had some ace nights there though - a couple of mates ended up working the cloakroom quite later on in there too - remember always trying to blag to go upstairs on the left side of the stage (when looking at it) to get a beer as there was never any alchohol :D got some flyers actually with some big round moon face on I think - like rectangular shaped ones but upright if that makes sense :D remember the Waltzers and Im sure there was a bouncy castle and a boxing ring once where you had those massive gloves? :D and I remember walking out with a Cotton Club EP one night on blue vinyl? don't remember how I got it, think they were throwing them into the crowd? :D last time I went was with Mike Woods one Christmas 3/4? years ago when he played one of the smaller rooms with Welly and Kenny - think it might have been called Compulsion? got a laminate card thing with it on some where. It was OK but even that 'smaller' room was too big for me :D I'll dig out the flyers and scan them and upload. :king:

i do have just the one Bad memory about that place , ( but this was when it was helterskelter and compulsion ( the very last event ) . . when the young lad collapsed and died at the front of the main stage ( which resulted in no more events from then on ) . .

As he was on our coach , it got to 4am and we were still the only coach left in the park and one person down , it wasnt till the police got on the coach to inform the young lads mates he had died that we knew what had happened and to who ( the lads mates were all well off it at the time too , will never forget there faces :( :( not summat you need to be told i that state , sat outside a club waiting for your mate . . :( )

Ha ha, yep - they were proper cnuts for that, got mine took off me a couple of times when tried to go in with one, could have done with some of these nice camera phones back then!

Had loads of top nights at Bowlers - like Bucky was mainly a Legends head, but we still went to Bowlers a fair bit, espescially once Legends had closed.

Could not believe the size of the place when first went in, and was only looking across the width of it - then realised how long it was too :S

Used to have a good laugh on the bouncy castle/gyro/velcro wall things - can remember K-Klass Let me show you Love getting dropped and the whole sledging bouncy castle jumping up in unison and bouncing onto the dancefloor

Thats the one bowlers event i went to. Had one of the best nights of my life & i'd say it was almost a life changing experience cos from that night onward my taste in music was completely converted & all i wanted to do was go out raving lol & thats what i did.

I cant believe thats what happened to that guy :( did he OD then?? Dehydrate or something?? Thats AWFUL, i cant begin to imagine how those poor lads felt :|

I only went to Bowlers twice, and it was the first time that changed my view on music to this very day.. :)

.. and looking at that picture of the queue, brings back memories of coming off the coach from Halifax, walking straight in and thinking to myself "Thank God I'm not waiting in line with that lot.."

Some of my top times....

Marvelling at how big the place was when you went in and how friendly it was compared to anywhere else I'd bee!

Standing on buffets from the bar area at the front on NYE dancing to K Klass and trying not to fall off.

People singing the words to Young MC to each other at the front and hugging each other if you both knew the words like some sort of masonic off yer head handshake!! Lol

Mad Damien who used to wear the black t shirt and was always down the front. also 'Legs Ste' who had hair liek coutn duckula but who could shake his legs like so one I've ever seen before - I think he was from wigan.

Poppers Jay who used to sell poppers in the car park :)

Sale water park, when someone's car went in the water and had to be wincged out - whoops!! :S

Playing footy on the car park all afternoon before going in.

All pilling into the back of an escort van (about 10 of us!) from Bradford to travel together!

Dancing on stage whenever you could climb up and seeing how long you lasted before the bouncers told you off!! Lol. :cops:

Wearing the most ridiculous clothes and not caring if you looked good cos you were too spangled!! ;)

Convoy's of cars going to the services all knowing where to go without the aid of mobile phones - I still don't know how me managed that!!! PMSL
