Jazzie B
In Jazzie B's own imitable words ''Its time to get busy, if you're not dancing yet f*** off now and make some space yeah''. Enough said.
Jazzie's rich musical heritage can be traced back to the formidable Soul II Soul soundsystem of the early 80s, which played a key role in the early London warehouse party scene and eventually transpired to become what is still the UK's most sensational soul group. Soul II Soul's responsibility for the killer classics 'Keep On Moving' and 'Back To Life' will keep them infinitely etched in dance music history, as Jazzie's grooves saw them effortlessly cross musical scenes and cultural boundaries.
The first sound man to be honoured by Her Majesty the Queen, from the renowned nights at the Africa Centre where things really kicked off, to widespread triumph with his Soul II Soul productions, Jazzie B gets props for being at the foundation of UK dance music back when.
Continuing work with his label Soul II Soul Recordings, an annual music festival in Antigua and regular BBC radio shows, Jazzie keeps thing relevant. Long-time inspiration to all those of a soulful persuasion - expect a melodious night of jazz, funk, house, hip hop, soul and boogie at Cutloose. This promises to be a special party, get ready to make some space yeah!
All motherf-ckers welcome!
