Essentially the only difference between the 1210 and the 1200 is colour... The argument about whether or not the 1200 and the 1210 are the same has been going on for years. People have said that the 1200 is a little faster starting up (0.1 seconds). Others say that the 1210 has gold plated contacts while the 1200 doesn't. Electronically they are the same and if there is any difference you won't notice it. Quite a few people mention that the 1210 is lighter than the 1200 and therefore more prone to rumble... never wieghed them but maybe you should ;) The service manual states them as being the same wieght tho. The problem is that this is rumour and gossip, technic's just say they are identical !?!?!?! If your looking to buy then get the Mk3. They have an improved motor (its been refined and re-engineered buts its essentially the same motor) and removed the click to zero problem that dogged the Mk2's when mixing close to zero pitch. The Mk3 also has a pitch reset button, extra wieghts for the needle and the improved on/off that iche_1 mentioned. They have a no-hinge lid for easier removal, I'm not the biggest fan of it but heh... the ppl seemed to want it :) I have the SL-1210 Mk3d... and they own ;) --- Fug
