Hello yall...I'm after a bit of help if you would please :D I'm tryin to connect my Xbox live and Pc so i dont keep having to cart me modem up and down the stairs like??? Do u think this would work, Its just an ethernet link 2 my 360 yeah so if i get this :RJ45 LAN Ethernet Splitter 1 to 2 Way Connector Adaptor on eBay, also Connectors, Couplers, Plugs, Cables, Connectors, Networking, Computers Networking (end time 19-Jan-08 22:02:44 GMT)
whop it in my cable modem and a long ethernet cable run it downstairs??? What do u think :| If not could u suggest something a bit easier/cheap.. Cheers 4 your time..

hmm... not sure...
If it did work, you would not be able to run your PC/X-box connected at the same time... you'd need a switch for that... That's technology I'm familiar with, but not sure whether X-box can be connected to the internet via a switch... It's the X-box bit I don't know much about.
To be honest, the way I'd go about it would be to buy a wireless adapter & connect one or other of your devices wirelessly.
That way you can put your modem where you like & don't have to worry about cables. You can also add more devices without worrying about running cables.

As I said, not sure about the X-Box part of this, but I'd be looking to use summat like this in place of your cable modem.

Yo would still have to have use your modem,a router would have to be connected to it.If the xbox has a wireless card biult in you will be ok if not you will have to buy one of those aswell.Try pming ashley she will know.:thumbsup:

if your on cable modem (ie virgin) then you could attach a cable wireless router (one of these would do ya). n then get a wireless adaptor for your xbox and connect through that. you cant have 2 internet connections from your cable modem at once that is why ya need a router to share it up for ya :thumbsup:

aye they are. jus been checkin the prices. a cheaper way of doing it then wud b to get jus a cable router (not wireless) and then run a rj45 cable down ya stairs n connect it up like that. one like this should do the trick
