Hi All - I hope someone can help me with this.....

I'm about to re embark on my DJ career with a few reunion parties this year and having sold nearly all of my vinyl I'm considering going down the MP3 route. I have enough vinyl for a decent set to begin with but no decks to practise on so my dilemma is do I buy some decks or do I invest in an MP3 mixer like the Behringer BCD3000?

My problem is that the parties I'll be playing at require me to dig out the old classics and as I'm tempted to go down the MP3 route I'd like to know if there are any decent compilation CDs out there that have on them the mid to late 90s classics that I'm after - I can't find many yet! The alternative is to find somewhere to download them. I've used Dj download dot com before and it's a great site but I can't get any older stuff on there.

Thanks in advance for your help ;)

my advice would be to avoid the compilations m8, a lot of the better tunes never appeared on them as far as i know so you would be limiting yourself to playing a bunch of dave pearce style cheesy tat :naughty:

if your on a budget i reckon mp3's would be the way to go, try soulseek or something like that, i'm still addicted to vinyl myself, but i've heard that there's some good stuff to be had on there.

hope this helps, good luck with it

The other prob with comp cds is there tends to be lots of radio edits on them. Nowt worse in my opinion than a tune thats had the balls ripped out of it so it'll fit into a neat little 3:30 slot.:|

Pacemaker - The Ultimate Music Machine

you can take it whereever you go,just fits in your pocket, its the size of a Sony PSP,get the 120GB harddrive version not the new 60GB,very advanced bit of kit does most things 2cdj's and a mixer will do,ideal for partys, you can even use it in the car through a fm transmittor or aux input of your radio,
