Velvet - "Hold Me" Now there's a tune !!!!!!!!!!!

I've never met anyone with a bad word to say about him, but I've met plenty of peeps who've buzzed their tits of listening to him.

Anyways, I've nominated him for a place in my all time top ten tunes. Will anyone second my nomination ?????

I don't know how much he's worth and I couldn't give a fuk. IMO to achieve all time top ten status a tune's gotta have something that money can't buy......

So does he go through to the next round or not ???

Controversial as ever. I hate this tune,.....however I only have the remixes, and so if your on about the original then I feel I'm going to have to track down a copy, to confirm your praises.

Absolute classic tunage - i guess ya got to ave been round at the time to appreciate it - very very popular northern tune - gimme this for the pianoman, s cape, 94 95 sampled stuff anyday

I'm not having a go at it, not the original, s'only all Ive heard are the remixes, so I need to hear the original before I can give a full opinion.

I'm not quite sure about having to be around at the time, I love Arthur Bakers remix of Fleetwood Mac's Big Love from 1987, and I was 7 years old when this was released.

But I can see what your sayin, a tune can hold different memories, if you associate where you were when you first heard it, or when it was first released.

Well, I'm touched by the overwhelming support for Velvet !!! :D

If he'd got a thousand votes from the general public it wouldn't have come close to the value I place on the opinions of those who've voted so far. There's not many tunes who'd get the thumbs up from so many professional tune spotters

There's only DJ Fantasia who's still unsure, and he's not heard the original yet. I'm ripping him at the moment, but I'm not sure a rip does him justice. Velvet is one of those tunes you need to hear 'at work' if ya know what I mean. He only plays ball when he respects the DJ, but when the two click he fukkin rocks the place

I'll up the rip for ya to have a listen Dave, but you're gonna have to shut yer eyes and imagine the reaction of a few thousand peeps in a warehouse when he comes stomping out of the Star Wars build up thingy.....

Trust me, when that piano drops he has them eating out of his inner sleave, lol
