basically...

Anything that starts and ends with a piano and no break in it is tough... theres nowt worse that 2 badly mixed, out of sync clanging pianos riffs mixed over each other !!! LOL

Although, gotta say Neil Jackson (ex-sequins resident) could do this and it sounded sweet. Must have had a good ear for matching piano keys or summat.

Play the piano

If your gonna do a mix where you're mixing 2 piano riffs together (mashing them together), You got to know your music really or have an instant ear,and to be able to realise that they mix in key together. Not alot of piano tunes are in key together, so most D.J's usually mix the piano on the beat break, thats why such old school D.J's namely Sasha, where so shit hot at mixing, he has grade 10 as a pianist!!! so he knows his SH*T!!:D

Hmmn, I would agree with that........however, the harder thing is getting two tunes which 'step' up the range at the same time (say one goes up every two bars, and the other may be similar however it steps up every four bars etc!). You could spend days searching and still not match anything!.......

As for other records which prove a bit of a nightmare, I reckon theres loads of old tracks!!!! - Or is it just me who cant mix anymore!?????heheheh.

Yeh, I'd agree with that Sirius!
But If it gets too flamin' technical, sod mixin' 2 piano's together, and mix a vocal Accapella with it or a similar beat to the tune! Take the easy ride out!

Yeah innit m8. why spend 5 days trying to blend piano hooks together when you can just beat mix it or make an accapella filling to the sandwich?!!!!!!!. Peeps shouldnt waste thier time trying to match piano's together, its like 1 in 5000 chance of finding a match!!

See ya

Yeh, but you've got to credit those D.j's who actually spend time finding perfect mixes, and don't mix out every single record at the end! They actually sweat on the decks, continually mixin' this, mixin' that, like a Hip-hop D.j would, entertaining the crowd. For example, a certain Mr. Cox! He just doesn't know when to rest, Mr swifty fingas Cox, a real crowd entertainer!:D
