When you play to an audience, as a DJ what is your most important role? (think in terms of entertainment/story telling/musicality etc etc) whatever lol.</p><p></p><p>the most important thing is to try to entertain, there's no point telling a story if everyone thinks it's shite lol. having said that u have to rely on ur musical taste to a certain extent. </p><p></p><p>i once got asked how i decided which tunes to buy, and i said that i buy what i like and play that. the person i was talking to slated me, saying that i was being selfish cos i was playing for myself rather than for the crowd :S </p><p></p><p>i couldn't disagree more tbh, if ur in a record shop listening to tunes and u hear somat u think is crap but u think it might appeal to the masses, and u buy it for that reason ur doomed, that's how the most atrocious music gets made imho. having said that, as easty says what ur aiming for is for ppl to enjoy themselves, there are few better buzzes than to see ppl going mental while u play.</p><p></p><p>u have to play for urself first, and if ppl like it then great <img src="data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7" class="smilie smilie--sprite smilie--sprite8" alt=":D" title="Big grin :D" loading="lazy" data-shortname=":D" /> if they don't it's time to find a new hobby lol <img src="/styles/default/xenforo/smilies/classics/thumbsup.gif" class="smilie" loading="lazy" alt=":thumbsup:" title="thumbs up :thumbsup:" data-shortname=":thumbsup:" /> </p><p></p><p>3.
