Damn right you are hunny...if the seller has not stated any defects in the item discription then it has been sold to u under faulse pretence...there is no way this could have happened in transit either so he has no leg to stand on........gi me a shout if u have any probs wi um huns and i will ensure he dont have his other leg either.... lol

You can also try finding where the exact spot of the stick is. Then have a close inspection of it. If it looks like it's not a scratch, and maybe just something stuck in the groove you can try diggin it out ever so carefully with a cloth, or last resort with your finger nail.

I dare not try anything in case I make it worse, I would prefer to fix it if I could then it would save all the hassle. I have looked at the vinyl at I cant see any, but I am new to all this.

Thanks hun

like the guys say you sometimes get shit stuck in the groove - try puttin the record on dead slow and applying finger pressure to the top of the cartridge above the needle as it goes through the jump - this sometimes clears the shit out but can also repair a light scratch by pushin the groove back into place - just might get a very slight click when you play it, but its worked fine for me several times.......

get a mix of fairy washing up liquid and warm water in a spray bottle, give the vinyl a good soaking with the mixture trying not to get too much on the label if you get the label too wet then just give it a wipe with some bog roll, leave the vinyl to "soak" for a few mins, this will soften any grease grime or whatever that has embeded itself into the grooves, then give it a good wipe (anti clockwise) with a soft barley damp cloth, then put the vinyl on ya deck and place a 2p on top of your stylus, then let the tune play all the way throu, clean the needle and play it throu again, then buff the vinyl up with a soft dry cloth

a few peeps on here told me to do the washing up liquid n water and i gotta say i was well suprised at how much "crap" is embeded in even some of the vinyl's i thought to be clean

hope that helps

Awwww ti s good when you get a good seller isnt it guys. I got a reply from him

(im sorry to hear that, it hasnt been played for a long time, but looked OK, is it a scratch or is something stuck in the groove? I dont have another copy im afraid, though i may have something else you would like, please let me know, i'll be happy to sort the situation out,)
best wishes

Lol!!! I told him I have a wants list as long as me arms.

But it looks like everything will be ok, which I am pleased about. It would be a shame for my fun to be spoilt. It would put me of buying anything :( any more of ebay.

Sometimes a tune can stick in a certain spot, n cause a good effect. This is usually a manufacturing defect (Look to see if you can see one line spiralling straight to the end of the grooves, this line doesn't run along with all the rest of the grooves).
I have 2 or 3 tunes that stick in a certain spot, there stuck so that they loop a bar of the tune, which makes it sound like youve sampled it. Although not all defects come out like this, but if you get one, keep it, coz it can sound good in the mix :)
