I recently bought 100 cds off someone. They arrived pretty quickly but I shocked when I opened them to find that there was lots of doubles and also they were completely cack (ok the latter didn't surprise me too much). But AND CHECK THIS... There was 11 copies of one of the cds. I am asking you as friends for your honest advice after an extremely abusive email which you can read below. Basically I think I have a few choices a) do nothing and try and flog a few of them to reap back some of the losses b) leave negative feedback (which he will return) just so nobody else buys his shit. I was thinking of posting a url in the feedback with a transcript of our correspondance. I have found his website and it seems he flogs dvd for ridiculus prices. Here is the email history so far.....

Recieved today fella and not very happy. I'm not shocked to have a couple of doubles (even though this wasn't mentioned in the sale) but mate. Out of the hundred sent. 11 are the same!!!! and I don't even like that one!!! Off to paris for the weekend in about 50 mins but hopefully we can sort something out when I get back to avoid neutral/negative comments.
Have a good weekend.
Nathan

Leave negative feedback, do the link thing you suggested, complain to e-bay - that is all the logical stuff that you have to do. I don't sell (or buy) much stuff on ebay but I wouldn't give a monkeys about leaving negative feedback, especially with a twat like that.

The illogical stuff, and i've had a few beers so am now in rant mode...is that if you know his address go and see him and beat him to within an inch of his life, get your money back, and see if 11 CDs will fit into one big mouth. He sounds like a c**t of the highest order.

I can't say this hasn't crossed my mind. The truth is though and like steh says I should have asked more about what was on offer. Although the tosser doesn't say there are multiple copies of cds he also doesn't say there aren't multiple copies of cds. Which is his argument. I have learned yet another valuble and costly ebay lesson me thinks. Still pisses me off though

i was wondering how he was a power seller with just 188 feedback but seems you can get it after just 100...anyway this is what ebay says about it's 'power sellers'

As the pillars of our community, PowerSellers are committed to upholding and embracing the core community values that are the very foundation of eBay. They are exemplary members who are held to the highest standards of professionalism, having achieved and maintained a 98% positive feedback rating and an excellent sales performance record.

lol, I'd send a copy of that along with that email to ebay and see if they reckon he's still an exemplary member of the highest standard..

if you leave negative feedback you'll put him down to 99%..

+ i reckon we deffo need an ebay blacklist on here so we can all ban these idiots and make sure we don't bid on any of their auctions..

I think that you have got a good case IF they're bootlegs.

Obviously for that price, you'd expect them to be bootlegs, but they're still illegal - if that's the case :)

*Edt - Sorry, i've just read it again and it says they're all originals :$ *

Well he did say 'theres something in here for everyone':p

Don't think theres a lot ya can do really cos he's worded it so he hasn't told any lies, just got rid of a crock of shit he couldn't sell elsewhere! Just pick out the ones ya wanna keep an stick the rest back on ebay worded similar to what he put.

lol - you pick em don't yer Nath :axe:

yeah - agree with Lee... it's snide what he's done n no excuses but the way he's phrased the auction means he's technically told no porkies... ie. so ambigious n vague you could drive a bus thru it..

there's a lot of trust on that auction with minimal info... reminds me of those dodgy 'auctions' where people flog goods pre-wrapped in binbags etc... you always get a plant in the audience that buys one at the start n it turns out to be an x box for a tenner or summat... the rest are bags of shite....

bad luck mate, roll with the punches n learn from it - older n wiser

To be fair to the seller, looking at the pictures of the CD's, there's nothing in the pictures that would have made me think "ahhh I'll buy these for xxx" etc

In other words, they all looked like a bag o shite to me...

Am I the only one to have thought this?
