Alright m8.

Right youve chosen to go with Britalian dj's choice, .... which is all good and well, and your entitled to your opinion,....but IMO its not how it goes :p (lol).

I think its the first one, "taking your colour"

My motivation for this (but i might be wrong) is colour has 2 syllables in it , as the song is sung "Take It, So Im taking your co - lour. Heart does not.

Also the whole song is about racism and/or slavery

'when will the colour war come to an end'

'swing blue, and sweat Black'

'why test a brother who sweat for the pain of his ancestors'

Anyone else agree with me, or are they siding with the clearly Evil :drevil: Britalian DJ and lastnightadj ;)

ha ha ha

got to admit gents i've never really thought about it.
the version i always had was the uk react one.i got the mighty quinn one later on and never really played it due to it not having the mix on i always played so i didn't have a clue about any of the male/rap lyrics.
funny though this thread had me "lol'ing" as soon as a read it because before i knew what the track was one of my mates always said the vocals were:

taking,so i'm taking your "hard-on"........:bj:

i always thought that was a bit silly and having listened to the other lyrics for the first time today i have to admit it sounds the most likely.....but! seeing as he's on about racism and his ancestors he's pretty much talking from his heart and she's listening to his troubles.she's listening to what he's saying, taking aboard his problems/what's in his heart.
so is she not:
taking his heart on (i.e. taking on his troubles???)

that's my two penneth anyway, could be a mile out,but the italians often try and explain something and get it a bit wrong in translation.
if i'm wrong then i'll have to go with my mate's version and i've gotta say it's the first time i've ever heard anyone singing about a "hard on".............

Cheers for the input mikey,... ;)

A year or so ago, i thought it was "Take It, so I'm taking your Daughter"

...like a slave getting his own back on his master, for the was he had been treated, by 'taking his daughter' ....:eyebrow:

......erm :S

anyway i then settled on 'colour' being the more rational answer.

This is probably gonna be one of those that doesnt get sorted, but its interesting to see what different people think lyrics are!!!!

no probs i actually like your version better,it'll sound a lot better me going round singing "'i'm taking your daughter" rather than singing "i'm taking your hard-on"....i've had some funny looks over the years mate......:naughty:

The react version aint got lyrics, its got kind of a synth whistle / buzzing instead of em.

Th original mighty quinns got lyrics,...although come to think of it, one of the react releases has lyrics on.

It was definately written with lyrics :eyebrow:
