Any mountain bikers on here?

Hows the riding going now the weather is changin'?

Just put some new Rock Shox Recon Race on a few weeks ago, having great results with them, currently out 2 & 3 times a week, some single track & some 'character buildling' sessions slipped in for good measure. :D

Been hammering the road bike over the summer, then a couple of months ago some of me old mates started to appear and have been out on the MTB.

Real glad I got some mileage in over the summer, made a big difference when riding with the lads so far.

Full susser, sweet, like a 2 wheeled pogo stick?

Been having a blast round Serwood Pines recently, the single track isn't too bad but the downhill section if fun on a hard tail.

The 'wall of death' isn't for me, it nearly resulted in death!! ;)

I've been doing mainly xc hardpack forest trails and bridleways so the 1.9 schwalbe silento semi slicks on the hardtail have been fine for the time being, even with the fallen leaves.

I have a pair of panracers to try out on the full bouncer, but the 2.3 conti front and 2.1 nevagal rear combination has been bombproof all summer so im loathe to swap em out just yet

Fook that!
maybe when i was 20!

I came off at Gisburn last night, a relatively slow speed one so i managed to stay on me feet by running a bit...
I railed a berm ( the last one before you cross the tarmac road at Stocks reservoir if Jim remembers) and on the apex was a patch of mud... Uh oh i thinks, which was actually the moment i started to stuff it, once you think you wont get through something, odds are you'll fail!
Bike tips over at a crazy angle allowing me to dab my right foot, let go of the bars and run like fook!

Looks great!

I wouldn't be able to do the things on my bike that I do now when I was 20, too many mind bending chemicals!! lol

I still try them now though at 36, my excuse is that I am keeping my hand in for when me kids are old enough & need showing how its done!!

Those pics have got me all excited for the ride on Sunday, I love a good trail blaze with a few hills to climb along the way!

I did and they are laughable, 7 mph average, down 2mph then normal and a fastest recorded time of about 29 mph i think...
Its that fire road 500 foot climb, it fucked me up again, i really need to drop 2 stone and work on cardio.

Stats n maps

Looks a good route.

Been out a couple of times since the weekend, did a 5hr session on Sunday, I was proper fcuk'd after that!

Went out Tuesday night for a couple of hours too.

Not getting out at the weekend though, got a chest infection & the lurgy, been in bed for 2 days. :(
