Chav-ville Droylsden, innit!
I know I'm a member of that sad bunch often frowned upon by vinyl junkies - 'The CD Nerds' (no-one round here has slagged me off, though, coz you're all too nice of course!).

Just wondered if anyone else here was prepared to 'come out of the closit' and admit they only have CDs as well?

PLEASE don't tell me I'm the only one!

I'm that embarrassed about it, even my mother doesn't know!

I've tried counselling, but the doctor said I should get a life, and a pair of 1210's... :$

Answers on a CD to the usual address.

(Oh, I DO have 2 vinyl copies of 'Jam The Dance' in the loft, if that redeems me in any way!) :hubba:

Shock! Horror! Gasp!. A CD mixer in our midst!...............nah seriously though, even tha man like Sasha has used and does use cd mixers (I think its Pioneer). Personally, I could never cope without cueing up and releasing vinyl with your finger, but if you can mix sucessfully with CDs then it dont matter that much (although there are ways to 'cheat the deck users' with CD's I heard).

Infact, I wish I used them sometimes because sommet like over 5000 vinyls tends to take over your house somewhat and is much more neater on ickle CD's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Not to mention the cost saving of floor reinforcements/repair to structural collapse of the bedroom.................hehheheh (may not be joking for long....).

I have been there and done that , did a bit of stuff for pioneer when the cdj's came out and i was signed to them got a free pair of cd decks too.

It's quite easy to do but still does not have the feel of the 12" ..

The cd turntable could soon be a thing of the past anyway , the new thing seems to be a laptop with all your mp3's stored on it with a control panel similar to the denon cd system connected to it .

More simple than the cd or minidisc system but again not a replacement for vinyl ..

Well spotted that URL, Myk.... I'm sure it worked on my 'puter earlier... :$

No, I'm not a DJ either, other than of the bedroom variety (well, the back room), and up untilm about 4 weeks ago, I've not done any mixing for over 4 years when I last owned a pair of (Pioneer) CD decks...

RJ, did you have the Pioneer 1k's or the CDJ500s? I had the 500s when they first came out in about 1994, and they don't even compare with the 1k's at all...

I've never mixed with vinyl (sad, but true), but my 1k's are always in 'vinyl mode'. Even though I should be used to 'CDJ mode', I find 'vinyl mode' much more intuitive (wahey, I spelt it right, and I'm, p*shed).

I would love a pair of analogue decks, but as you know, I don't have any frikkin vinyl... :$

If anyone has a spare pair of 1200's they don't want... :D

I've had mixed (!) experience with this caper

It can be fun when you get all your cd's on the floor and spin round to the point of blacking out then pick one and play it.

The only problem is that if you go to far and mix too much you may require emergency treatment.

.... but don't worry help may be at hand ....

To avoid choking on ones own vomit simply alert the local authority before mixing so they can be on tandby should it all go a bit wrong ....
