Alot of bulls**t been said here. Hmmmmm pretentious people, i cant understand why u come on here if u dont like the rave scene and how it was. In my opinion, Ark was by far the best event in leeds at that time, deffo had the best music/DJ's,acts and production. Iv spoke to rob tissera on this subject in a 3 hour long convo right these are the main reasons the ark ended, their was other factors too but the main reasons were as follows: 1.Rob tyrell (main promoter) said the numbers were slightly down each event towards the end, not a great deal but he could sence a shift was happening in the club scene so pulled the plug while it was on top unlike other events such as the gallery and life at bowlers who dragged it out till death and ended up with poor events 2. rob tyrell (the main promoter) had his retail shops which by this time were making far more revenue than the club night, (i cant remember the actual percentages but i know it was alot more) those were his very words! 3. Rob tyrell had had enough, he had been running events for many years and wanted to concentrate on his clothing line, and take it one step further, he could only do this by loosing the rave tag which was associated with drug taking, hence the reason the ark logo changed at the same time. All good things come to a end. another problem the was with the venue (university), they stopped letting them use the balcony and other issues were becoming more of a problem too, i think it had something to do with the uni having a refit, also, the carbon copy tale of the gallery is the most amusing thing iv heard this year hahahah, Rob tyell was doing events well before Gallery. which started with a event called Dream Hard times was great too B2B and UYR were also good but the atmos was nothin compaired to Ark and the people their were very much more up their own ass hahaha all good events tho, sadly missed
