Gewd, i feel so tight and being off hand with these people- but why oh why put Asian people with limited Eng on customer service lines for the UK? Obv i know the reason, but seriously, when your stressed over being over charged (SKY = wankers) then it makes it so much harder. I just spent 10 mins ranting to some poor soul who, at the end, simply asked 'do you wish to pay your bill madam'. Arghhh, no- thats my point!

BTW, anyone else got Sky multi room? If so, say you order a film, or as in this case buy Prem Plus, can you watch it on the other box? We did, and are now being charched for every match watched at £8 each. This is on top of the multiroom sub charge, the SKY + charge, and the general channel charge with sport shit. Its too much for telly!

I just worked out that for the google box channels, landphone d/d and both mobile d/d its £180ish per month. :axe: These items are essentially just 'fun' things, its madness.

I feel yer pain re call centres...

As for everything else... I've moved it to Sky....

landline (they pay the BT line rental & give loads of free minutes)
broadband (was with NTL @ 25 a month... now a tenner a month & higher bandwidth)

Pisses me right off as well.

There was something in the news about this the other day, how some UK companies have realized just how much it pisses people off and are re-opening call centres in England, full of English people who, not surprisingly, are fluent in English... lol

I reckon that if you're a big company that's making, say, 300 million profit every year, then surely it's better to sacrifice a few million to ensure that you have happy customers by providing a quality service?

I've been having the same issues with AOl over the last few weeks. Still, at least it's a freephone number.... :D

I had to wait for 20 mins to talk to someone (at what cost i dont know, its an 08702), all the while some annoying bitch was telling me non stop about Sky mag, exclusive interviews and shit. Like i give a rats ass when i am queing to complain.

I do feel bad, and i hate myself for being so rude. Its just so hard when you can't even get your point across as they really don't understand you.

it realy does my head in these feckin call centres!!

they ring here all the time to update their databse and for some reason they are all called paul or alan or john!!!

they are obviously ringing up and are clearly reading from a pre-written wotsit and they cant even pronounce the ferking words proper!!

spesh when u ring directory enquiries u cant understand u and they give you the wrong ferking number!!!

same as with the polish people...god love em......

we went for a scran in the pub on sunday and there was 8 of us, and trying to tell this polish woman we wanted 2 seperate bills was realy like talking a foreign language to her, she was well scary and we couldnt understand a word she was saying at all

it pisses me off coz ur paying for a service and u dont get it

I pay 40 something a month and I don't even watch the bloody thing lol

I might ditch my internet connection with Telewest too, sorry NTL/Telewest, sorry it's Virgin now aint it:crazy: Like Shooms i've been paying £25 a month for 4Mb service (which keeps cutting out during downloads:mad: ) when I could get up to 16Mb for £10/month.

Any probs with Sky's broadband package Shooms? I saw them on Watchdog the other night, because of a few disgruntled customers? :|

Well I just sat on hold to Churchill for 7 minutes, and was then told that it would cost me £9 for them to send a copy of my insurance certificate. Not suprisingly, I told them to get bent.

See this link hun, if u put either the company name or number u should get either a free phone number or a geographical one

SAYNOTO0870.COM - Non-Geographical Alternative Telephone Numbers

I tried sky's general number & hey presto

Sky Digital

0870 / 0871
0870 2404040

Geographical
01506 831782

Freephone
0800 0512595

Can't say u will get someone who speaks good english but at least it don't cost u a penny ;)

If you can't go the route of getting a freephone number initially, and you do happen to get an english speaking person, ask them to ring you back - they will do

£180 a month for all that, jesus that's a lot of money that Amelie :S

I pay £24.99 a month for virgin's call plan (forget which one it is, free calls at weekends and all that jive and have free telly for a year) and just £17.99 for 10 meg broadbeans, I have told em I was leaving like and good old retention departments can give you upto 50% off the price (helps knowing how they work of course) :D

Ring them up and threaten to leave, see what price they give you to stay...

And i'm i'm well naffed off that they have taken Sky One and Sky News off of us - What next?

And breathe..... I'm calm now!

Been trying to get my broadbeans upgraded for less money for about 6 weeks. Today I finally got a confirmation email, but for the regular price and not the discounted price that I was quoted....

Even more amusing was the postman bringing me a wireless router this morning that I didn't even order....

So the foreign slag on the phone says I'm not on a discount price plan because I've been sent a router, which I specifically said I did not want or need... :axe: :condom:

Can't get put through to a manager... wtf? :S

Tried Jens magic freephone number website and found a different freephone number that put me through to someone who, wait for it, was English! :bounce4: :birthday3 :drum: :guitar:

Problem solved in 2 minutes, after about 6 weeks off bullshit and promises of return calls that are never recieved. Wankers.

Lets be honest here though, its hardly the people who work there that are at fault. Its the company that we are customers of that employ them for thier own financial gain. These people are just trying to earn a living, hence me saying that i felt bad about being rude to them:thumbsup:
