Bali - Indonesia

Looks like were gunna be going to Sri Lanka in March, it seems thats its almost as cheap to fly to Kuala Lumpur then to Sri Lanka with AirAsia than to get a direct flight. I'm thinking that we might extend the trip out from KL to perhaps Indonesia... was looking at Bali, has anyone ever been? If so, what dya reckon?

Enjoy Sri Lanka, I have not been but have been to India 3 times and would go again tomorrow, I love the place. My assistant used to live in Sri Lanka and she loved it and always wanted to go back. There is an elephant sanctuary which is meant to be great and generally go out and see the country....envious!!

Bali, again ive not been, my parents almost went but got cancelled on the morning they were due to flue due to the Bali bombing. My brother and his wife have been and said a great place but full of Ausi's which spoilt it a bit for them...not got anything against them but is meant to be a bit like the Ausi Ibiza. I would still go without any hesitation....again envious.

Ive got a holiday booked for March, Mauritius....cant wait and meant to be a bit special.....its a delayed honeymoon so splashed out a bit....quite a bit actually

It's 12 years since I went but I liked it a lot. Was very cheap. Kuta is full of leery Aussies, but Ubud was mellow, really chilled. Lovina in the north was very under developed but there's good diving up there including a sunk US Warship. Historically interesting a lot of Indian and Hindu influences. The people were nice, laid back.

The roads were mental!!!!!

avoid kuta like the plague.......its dirty, hassled to death, cant go on the beach for all the mither etc

if you go make sure you go to sanur, its nice clean, laid back

how do you travel, budget traveler or hotel and the full monty??

flashbacks is a mint guest house, pretty cheap or try rita homestay, lovely and clean and pretty cheap too.

my uncle marrieda chick from bali and he has bought land in lovina and has built the most amazing house there.
