yip...fkn top drawer that fella..it was such a natural progression for me to go from NS to early house/rave/acid...I was into NS and the whole scooter scene through out the 80's, it was fkn hyaowge in the Midlands, the scene, still is I reckon...the old footage is priceless, awe inspiring and soul stirring.:thumbsup:.could do with a dollop of that stuff on here.

How commercially successful/popular was Northern soul at the time?

Some fantastic records, many remind me of Motown type stuff which you can't help but love.

Some of the little 7" go for plenty of cash too.

I bet Barrie Jay could do a top NS set and woukdnt be surprised if poofter Perkins could do:;

Fleetwood - twinned with Royston Vasey
I recall Paul from back in the day as a result of this documentary.

It was obviously personal tom him and taken from his view point but far far too much Casino for me and not enough Wheel/ Torch/ Mecca (at least it got a mention) where, to me, where far more influential on the scne tune wise than the Casino.

The Casino (mostly through Russ) played some truly dreadful fucking records but the bad times fade and the good times remain.

Overall, it was a fair decent documentary, touched on drugs which, let`s face it, they had to, and provided a decent update on the scene as it is nowadays.
