Heard and seen a few clips of DJ Yoda, will get on the case tomorrow and see what I can download of his stuff..
Other great DJ's from back in the day:
Grandmaster Flash (who could forget him, the first to comit a live mix to vinyl)
Joe Cooley (Rodney O's DJ, who cut up Al-Nafayish by Hashim at lightening speed)
Jazzy Jeff (Fresh Prince's DJ, who was one of the masters at bringing out the 'transform' style)
Cutmaster Swift (UK DMC Champ, cheeky, but ultra cool with it)
You could argue that after 1990, it all got a bit too 'mad' with all the new turntable 'trix' and whatnot, but there have been some great stand outs since, Roc Raida & A-Trak (that young kid!) were superb.
I used to love Channel 4's intro's to the coverage they'd sometimes show..
"And now, legs, arms, hands and feet, mix and scratch it, with the DMC World Mixing Championships" hehe
Can't recall who it was, but one cheeky bugger, cut up Digital Undergrounds 'Humpty Dance' using his arse, with the line "and in a sixty-nine my humpty nose will tickle ya rear.." - that was class, you gotta give them credit for humour
