Last ditch attempt at the soundcard problem......
Tried to get the soundcard working again today. No luck though.
However, what I did was (after all the stuff Ive already tried) take the card out, remove all the drivers, reboot a few times etc and reinstall the Soundcard Drivers for the Nforce2 Soundstorm in an attempt to just use that whilst I send the other back or whatever.
This kinda worked, I got back the soundstorm panel, plays things fine, however I still cannot record on the soundstorm this time!. Mic, nothing. Im not sure what all the ports do at the back of the mainboard, but I tried them all with a direct line out the dex.
Right, I thought. Sack that. I went to my old computer and dismantled the old Soundblaster Live 5.1 and LiveDrive and fitted it in, with all the cables etc. Installed the devices off the CD Installation disk. However, this doesnt work at all. I get clicking noises out the ports when I touch the plug in but thats about it.
So, all in all, with 3 soundcards at my disposal, none seem to work properly.
Anyone know whats going on? Do you think it may be the mainboard thats blown somehow and not the Soundblaster Audigy at all? Is it possible?.
Im gonna have to make a choice of whether I box it all back up and try and get a refund, or get a replacement soundcard, then it may not even be that :S
