Aftnoon all,

My little brother got married yesterday and I experienced an event at his evening reception I have never even seen in a club. He hired a live band, who played Indie covers and to not put too fine a point on it, they were excellent. In between tracks the keyboard player kept playing the opening chords of Africa by Toto. Basically he was teasing us, and it turns out the band didn't know any more of the track. Towards the end, everyone was chanting the opening notes like a football crowd. The dj, who was just your ordinary wedding jock dropped Africa and I have never seen a reaction like it. Even my old man, who is 57 this year and about 18 stone was on someones shoulders and my mum who needs a new knee was getting down. Through a combination of all day drinking, teasing of the party goers by the band, the crowd coming together and then the dj releasing the pressure the result was amazing.

Anyone else experienced anything like this?

It's a great track, really atmospheric.

I remember someone tellign me about a Dj at the Hac, it might have been Laurent Garnier slipping a tiny bit of Sweet dreams by eurythmics into his set for two or 3 hours. Just enough to make you think 'I know that'.

When he dropped the original, of course the place went bezerk, they were all ready for it.
