Hello you lot, i need your help please :| :mad: :cry: Right i sold my Technics dustcovers the other day and sent em 1st class wrapped in a whole roll of bubblerap then bubblerapped all of the corners 4 extra protection and finally loads of brown paper and a ruk of tape then plastered fragile all over them.. Now 4 1st class (£8.17) this should be fine i thought but i just got this message from the buyer...

"Items very poorly wrapped and badly damaged on arrival! I was very disappointed to receive them in this state. One of them is completely unuseable.
Please let me know what you are going to do. Are you going to send another one or refund the money."

Now i dont kno who's fault this is or how i go about dealing with it???
and how do i kno the buyer isnt having me at it? Why do they need more lids? The ones he sends back/takes a photo of could be old ones???

Hard one this mate

1: He could be lying through his teeth

2: Could have been damaged during transit , but tbh if you have sent them they way you said i find that hard to believe

Did you send them insured ?

doesn't matter, royal mail should re imberse you

danny once sent me a tune (not recorded or owt) and it arrived snapped, he got the full cost of the tune back

tell the guy to return em to ya then take it up with the royal mail mate

Two things - how did you send it (ie First Class Recorded or whatever) and how did he pay? If he paid by Paypal you are better off refunding him yourself, as if he starts a chargeback he'll win - unless you sent it by trackable means. Everything sent via Royal Mail is covered by a certain amount of insurance - I think first class is covered up to about £32. Get him to send it back to you, refund AFTER it has arrived back to you and you can inspect it. Then start a claim with Royal Mail for damage caused in transit.

It was just 1st class.. Now then if i ask him 2 send it back will i have 2 refund him the postage charges?? The lids were sold for for £48.50 with a further £7 postage, Pfff i dunno even if royal mail cough up will i get all of it back.. Thanks for all your help so far by the way peeps :thumbsup:

I had this exact same thing the opposite way round m8 - i recvd something damaged - we ended up goin thro paypal - i had to return the goods to them special delivery at my own cost and then the seller had to remburse me the money but they could claim on royal mail for the broken goods :thumbsup:

But regarding your problem, Get them back and you should be able to tell if these are your lids that he has sent back or not. Also is his feedback good, any potential problems you may not have seen at the time etc

It looks like its a woman... I would struggle 2 say if they were my lids or not :|

Its a right pickle this!! The thing that gets me is they were bid mad even putting in a higher maximum bid on the £48.50 Lids are just not worth that much money??? If u ask me this bint is on the swizzle!
And even if i could tell they were my lids i would still have 2 prove it? Ooooooooh.. I should have thunk of this kinda stunt b4 i sent em??? I could say i marked em with a magic pen ;)
