This guy and my friend came to the rescue of monroes in my opinion. We were both 18 at the time and ste had only been Dj-ing a year. Monroes had gone stale for some time, same djs and same mixes week after week and the crowd seemed like it had been instituionalised or something! Anyway, Steve started to move away from Italian house and started exploring different labels, DJs and producers. Realising he wasn't going to win over the crowd at monroes overnight he introduced the new music over a period of a couple of weeks, which isn't long but what made it easier was that he could mix superbly and he could Scratch just as well as any DJ from Chicago, so my best mixed tape is Steven Higginson '92.
