I really want this but buggered if I'm paying that much

How much you for paid for a tune that you 'just had to have' ? Also what gems did you find loitering in the bargain bins or in charity shops that you got for 50p ?

My best finds were Sweet Mercy - Take me away which I got for a quid & Corina - Tempation which I got for a massive 50p :king: :king:

My most extravagant purchase was Latour - Blue (blue vinyl) which I parted with 20 notes for :$

Why did that michaeldoige kep upping the bidding when no one else was?? I dont' get that????

My most paid out for tune was "What eveil Lurks/Android" £103 incl postage. And I dson't care how much it was, classic record for me & I'd pay it again if I had to !!

Dunno about bargains........ SteH&Tinksi gave me "Take me higher" after the Feb mash up which not only was sooo sweet of them but I love that tune !! thanks guys.

Also, I've got the original Sounds of Eden (purple & black snake cover) & Extacy EP (red cover with yellow writing on) from when they were released. Apparently they'd fetch a few quid now & I only paid whatevert hey cost at the time.

Finally My Friend Sam cost me a fiver cos I managed to get the guy in Eastern Bloc to sell me his personal clear vinyl copy years ago. I would have sold my soul to the devil for that one if I'd had to !!! :phones:

He kept on bidding but was beaten each time by deejayrage's proxy bid. I'm amazed he stopped bidding at £39.50. Deejayrage's maximum proxy bid was £40 (you can tell this because the bid didn't go to £40.50 after michaeldoige's £39.50 bid). So if michaeldoige had bid another quid he'd have won the auction.
Anyway, I'll stop waffling. The most I've ever paid for a record myself is £35 for a DMC triple pack.
I'll had quite a few bargains - I got a DMC remix of the Grandstand theme music at the weekend for £8 and believe it or not it's excellent - a proper summer tune.

eleanor rigby

picked up another wierd promo for a quid this weekend called "eleanor rigby" by the lonely people (samples beatles in a naughty way) - anyone know any more or if its worth owt?

Pauly P

p.s. I keep picking up copies of hibrid - twisted tamborine and unique 3 - the theme for 50p (I`ve got about 6 copies of each - I remember when these couldnt be found anywhere, now they are all over the place - wierd)

Now THAT sounds like a tune worth looking out for.... has it got breaks ?
It’s on DMC 144 (or it might be 143). It’s done apparently by “the BBC sports personalities for that Saturday afternoon feeling”. It starts off with a stardard beat, breaks into a funky piano, the beat comes back in, then it builds and builds until the cresendo of the Grandstand theme proper with a big bass kick behind it. Then at the end it goes into the Grandstand theme played just on a piano – which is dead sad (a bit like the theme music at the end of the Incredible Hulk). It’s honestly superb – well I think so anyhow.

No worries - I'll get it ripped tonight.
After refering to the vinyl - It's on DMC 143 and it's called -
"Sports Anthem!
Keith Mansfield
Grandstand
Created by the Sports Personalities of the Year for that Saturday afternoon feeling"

STOKE ON TRENT
i think the most ive ever paid is £15 for massive attack unfinished sympathy but also got an orbital tune on the other side aswell, satan i think its called.

my cheapest bargain was a box full of records, mostly old skool, for the grand price of £0. my friends were living next door to each other and they said they kept on hearing people trying to break into the shop they were living above,so they agreed that as soon they heard the bangs they would jip out of there flats and try and catch 'em. one night the bang came, they both came out but could see no-one. they went round to the front, no-one was there but there were a box of records, stanton needles, 4 way plugs and all sorts all strewn over the road???!!!

someone must have done a gig and the stuff literally fell off the back of a lorry. feel sorry for the guy who's records they were but what can you do????? apart from shut the van door properly!

:drum: :ba:  :rotate: :axe:
