Just watched this proggy on iplayer - BBC iPlayer - Poor Kids
I honestly can't believe that people live like this, well, that children have to live like this. I can't believe how aware they are that they are poor...and how it seemed to make them feel embarrassed.
It has made me so sad, and has has brought me down to earth with a bump reminding me how completely unfair things are. We don't have a choice who our parents are, and how we will be brought up. One little girl (of 8) mentioned that she will always be poor, because that's the way it is, and that she didn't want to grow up because it is hard. How sad is that??? A little little girl?! Having nothing isn't just about items you posses, but the ability and vision to get yourself out of having nothing. And tbh, I didn't see that in a lot of the children in this program..It just made me feel very sorry, and glad/thankful I have the life I do...even if I think I have nothing, I've got a lot.
