There's a big button at the top that says rip :D

And just under that, you can drop a menu down to select format (mp3) and the bitrate. I wouldn't go lower than 192Kbps.
ta very much for info when i put mix cd in it comes up single track do u know how to change that

I use Itunes to rip my cd mixes in as mp3 if there tracked up, it then converts them into one track for you so you can share it them.

In the menu at the top click advanced then click join cd tracks it then converts all tracks to one track :)

hit that' convert to compressed audio file' still no joy
no good at this sort of thing

Is the cd drive idle or does CDex actually go through the process of ripping the cd ? If it's ripping it, hit F4 to bring the menu up & just check that the output directory is where you want the ripped cds/ trax to be placed
Have you highlighted the tracks you want to rip? I don't have it at the moment but iirc you can right-click & select all, or just select the ones you want & there is an icon on the right hand side to rip 'part of cd to compressed audio file' or sth similar, which is basically for ripping mix cds & removing the gaps as one gapless mp3 file.
I found it to be really easy to use.

Check all the icons on the right hand side & one of them rips to a single file. You will be given an options screen where you are asked to name the start & end points of the continuous track.
