In a world of my own
personally I think that it make life easier for people to fraud your account.

A professional pick pocket could hang about in a shop buying sweets, watch you put in your pin number watch where your card is and thats it they go to town on your card before you notice its gone !

At least with signatures they have to learn to forge your signature giving you time to notice its been robbed

i think its a good idea, a week b4 xmas my boyfriend checked his balance and he was right to the overdraft limit, when he checked the statement there was nearly £500 gone out to a company we had never heard of...it got investigated and it turns out that the money had been spent on airline tickets, 2 tickets from amsterdam to london then another 2 tickets from london to manchester:mad:   and they had well dodgy names too.

the the bank had the cheek to say the the airline company weren't havin it that it was fraud and if they don't get to the bottom of it then it's basically tough shit and they will take the money back that they reimbersed(sp?) us at xmas.
if he had a chip and pin card this couldn't have happened, now we just have to wait and see how it turns out:cry:

I think it's a well good idea. Like, how many shop assistants REALLY check the sig properly? I've used a debit card of mine in a shop once that I hadn't even signed, and I've used my mates card once for a laugh and my sig looked nothing like his! LMAO :p

It's the future, it's here already, I think it's good, but at the same time it's fucked me over, as it'll put me out of a job at some point, as voice authorisation will become a thing of the past..

Still, you gotta keep movin' on, keep ke ke ke ke keep movin' on :p

it sounds exactly the same as the eftpos system that they use in australia. It will make like a whole lot easier for everyone. You just stick your card in the machine, enter your number and away you go
