Don't use usb to connect to the net, it's piss poor imo.

Can you use a network cable? They are much more stable.

The BT Voyager Modems are notoriously unreliable. I had one for 2 years and had a fair few problems with it, mainly with the handling of increased bandwidth and intermittent connectivity

Get yourself a Wireless Router (usually come with 4 X RJ45 ports) and Network Interface Card (NIC) for your PC, or Wireless card for your laptop.

Will sort out 99.9% of Modem related problems

Once you are happy with your new kit remove the modem from your setup, take it outside and repeatedly drive over it until it is in bits. I really enjoyed that part of my upgrade:thumbsup:

agreed, I got rid of my wired up modem and now have a full-on wireless high speed set up at home and i set it up myself in about half an hour - so if i can do it silky you can!!
I bought a belkin high speed mode wireless g router 125 high speed & for my bro pc i got him a 125 high speed mode wireless g USB network adaptor, which meant i did not have to open up his pc to install a wireless card or anything as it just plugged into a spare usb port on back of his pc.
the router & modem are in the front bedroom and i sit on my bed (in the next room) with my wireless laptop and my brother sits in his room on his pc which i have put a USB wireless adaptor in and he plays call of duty online with no probs whatsoever (we got a 4mg line with NTL and its been very reliable, i also use it for xbox live). No wires no mess no fuss
the xbox is not wireless though - lol cos its not the 360! lol
