CS : Source (console settings)

Does anyone who plays this know the best console settings for 512k DSL.

cl_cmdrate (35) - (in brackets are wot I've got em at now)

cl_updaterate (40)

rate (9999)

fps_max (101)

pissed about a bit with mine cos i had a bit of lag, now I've got a lot more lag (although I have got better fps!)

also, whats the default settings, am I right in thinkin I need to delete a .cfg file and then just restart css. If so wheres the file at?

and any general help on how to decrese lag would be good.

Your config is in ere but change to suit

C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\lizer\counter-strike source\cstrike\cfg

cl_smooth "0"
cl_cmdrate "101"
cl_updaterate "101"
rate 25000
fps_max try 76 or 101 or 125 if u can sustain it.

also few more little ones

cl_phys_props_enable 0
fog_enable 0
mat_bumpmap 0
mat_specular 0
r_rainradius 0
r_rainsimulate 0
r_rainsplashpercentage 0
cl_show_bloodspray 1
cl_showfps 1

loads more variables to mess about with on it.
Make a autoexec if needs be and add that to your folder and exec on server.
