This set is deffo from the Eclipse. It was original labelled up as Sasha 3. I have the original. Shooms is right, they used to sell them in Bang in Tunes accross the road, which incidently is now an Afro-Carribean hairdressers... They also used to sell them in the foyer afterwards. The first batch of tapes (DJ's: Eclipse 1 and 2) I saw were issued with a cut up flyer which was the orange one with the spiral effect in it. Then I think it was the beasts eye on it as my Groovrider 3 is like that, then later ones just were printed with 'The Eclipse' and the sun logo - my Sasha 3 and some others are like that. Yeah, I saw that website with them for sale in about 96/97 - from what I could gather, like Shoomster says, they were heavily edited and some of the mixes were combined in a sort of 'best of...' tape, which only confuses things further as they did sometimes combined sets from different nights on the tapes. Friday night promoters like Amnesia etc. released stuff seperately, although some nights like New Age and Energy were released as 'Eclipse' ones. All tapes from there under that name had The Eclipse logo were very professionally printed on the tape itself, don't let any other fecker tell you otherwise nor, like you see on e-bay all the time, are any genuine copies of mixes from before October 1990 - the club wasn't even open... As far as I know - I stopped going late in '91 - they never issued stuff on CD under the 'Eclipse', although I think they did when they rebranded as 'The Edge'. They deffo did not release any in my time there so I'm sure this guy is having us on. I think NYE was done by Amnesia that year anyway so it would have been released as an Amnesia mix if he was there, I wasn't so I don't know - I'll see if anyones got the flyer... I'd report him to e-bay for passing off CDr's as 'original'... arse. If you want any other mixes just shout and I'll do you them for feck all... Mart
