What is the best digital set up for me??

Do all digital set ups suffer from latancy issues and if so is it something I would have to get used to? I bought a CDJ400x2 DJM400 and Pioneer Flightcase set up a while ago and to be honest it gets very little use as I rarely can be bothered to set it up.

I liked the Vestax VCI300 I had but could not get used to the latency issues and the mixer section felt a little weak.

What are others using and how do people get over the latency problems? I want the convenience of digital but with the feel of vinyl or at least a controller which has a quality feel to it. Not wanting digital vinyl as I have real vinyl for that but just wanting something to mess around with and hopefully get on here.

Surely if you have record decks (to mix your vinyl) then the simplest method would be playing original vinyl, or playing control vinyl rather than messing about with 2 set ups?

As for your question Siman i've no idea mate, but I don't understand why you've automatically ruled out probably the best of both worlds while you seem to be a vinyl collector.

Location Location Location.......

Deck are set up downstairs and the boss gets pissed off if I play downstairs unless we have friends round etc or shes not about. So solution is to record my vinyl to wav and mps and have a set up upstairs, something compact. Got the monitors etc and have got the cdj set up but just a bit bulky which puts me off using it!!

I love my records and would not part with them as vinyl gives the feedback I realy want and still brings a smile to my face when playing it.

Native Instruments Traktor Kontrol S2/S4 is getting very good reviews. Seems to be the controller people are wanting to get at the moment. Inbuilt audio interface as well, so latency shouldn't be an issue.

NATIVE INSTRUMENTS : HOME | HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE FOR MUSICIANS, PRODUCERS, DJS, GUITAR AND BASS PLAYERS

I have a vci 400, it is ace, can set the platters for the type of feel you want, can scratch on em. Using a macbook pro an no latency issues, no glitching runs like a dream. Makes a right racket.

Anybody used the Allen & Heath units, DX specifically as im not wanting a scratch platter just a jog wheel and im sure I can come to love Itch again. Also would consider a X3 or X4 although more costly and DX seems to do what I would want?

Think ill go for the traktor made 800 selling my decks and stands so leaves me the 400 for the Traktor and 400 towards a nice lap top will be better from a space perspective as well instead of having the bulky decks

Moving house at the mo so will get it in the next month

Will let you all know how i get on with it
