As far as i'm concerned, discogs is the most important electronic site on t'internet. As a source of electronic music information, it is second to none.

That said, my enthusiasm has diminished significantly over the last few months, and I blame it 100% on the time it takes for me to get any form of response with my submissions.

I've spent a lot of time submitting tunes to the site. Current figure is over 500, which is a fair few. You would think that might get you a little bit of leeway, however, I have found that the more I submit, the less responsive people seem to get to me. I would have given up several months ago had it not been my desire to be able to download the collection whilst out hunting for tunes. I have got the majority of the collection sorted and can't really be bothered doing much more

I think the moderating has got worse/slowed down considerably so I am much less enthusiatic about submitting tunes that take 2 months to get in to the database. That might be due to the fact that there are more and more people submitting, however, I have got very dis-illusioned with the whole thing. I have submitted more tunage than loads of moderators and I am beginning to think it is less driven by a desire to get the information into the database and more to do with conforming to particular formats.

It's all about priorities, and this is what makes me a bit sad: I think the priorities have chagned a little over the last year or so. It has edged more towards being exclusive rather than inclusive in nature.

Regardless of the rant, I do appreciate that it is probably a thankless task trying to validate the information from a moderators point of view, so am still more than happy with the site. It's still the best electronic music resource on t'internet
