I used to say the exact same bollocks a few years ago, until I tried it and learned the fuckin' hard way it was just that. Bollocks.
If someone was to use my set up with a pre arranged set, and actually listened to me on what to do, even if they never mixed in their life they could be mixing in minutes. Press play, bring in the choon, fade out the old tune- done. That easy. Just like he says.
But only because i've put hours of hard work and skill in to making sure the choons will beatmatch.
The automatic programmes that come with the DJ software, no matter how good or expensive or bling bling label are all fucking shit, and at best get a near enough approximation. Some of the time.
You try mixing with choons done automaticly, and 19 times out of 20 they might sound ok, then choon 20 will trainwreck and fuckwits with those sentiments wont have a clue how to get out of it apart from wang the crossfader over- you aint got a fuckin' clue as to which one of them 20 tunes is gonna be the trainwreck either.
And that's with a pre arranged set, if i'm playing on the fly for my own amusement, i use choons that aint prepared and then i call upon the same skills as a vinyl or CD DJ the only thing the laptop is doing is actually making the noises, i'm doing the rest
