That sounds like one of those dat dare DMC mega-mixes. They're meant for your "mobile jock" and are a different kettle of fish from the "normal" DMC releases (I'm telling my gran to suck eggs here as you probably already know this).

I've got loads of the "normal" DMC releases and I've gotta say I pretty much like all of them (the remix releases that is). Each release has at least one track on there that's worth buying it for. Some of the tracks might be mediocre (e.g. Alfie Notes 94 reinvention of Tom Jones - It's Not Unusual) but they're never really terrible.
A personal favourite of mine that I've mentioned before is the remix of Keith Mansfield's theme from Grandstand "Created by the Sports Personalities of the Year for that Saturday afternoon feeling". Top little track.

Anyway, in a long winding way, all I'm saying is DMC releases are great so lay off em!

IMO - Definitely worth getting are:

Underground Selection 11/92 - The Association mix of Quincey Jones - Listen Up on here is excellent.

Remix Culture 143 - As well as that Grandstand remix on here, there's also a dead funky track by Route 66 called Return to the Rare Groove Republic.

Remix Culture 150 - triple pack this one which has the unbelievable Brothers In Rhythm remix of Bruce Hornsby's The Way It Is.

Remix Culture 177 - Probably my fave DMC release, top remix of Public Enemy's Bring The Noise and a remix by BBBC of White Lines (Don't Do It) which I think well beats even the original.

Some definitely worth considering if cheapish are:

Remix Culture 109/1 - decent BIR remix of Clivilles & Cole's - Pride (In The Name Of Love) and a cracking Phil Kelsey remix of Blue Pearl - Can You Feel The Passion - be warned this is quite hard though.

August 91 Two - Nice Sasha remix of Third World - Now That We Found Love.

Underground Selection 9/92 - There's a Dave Clark remix of The Passions 1981 track 'I'm In Love With German Film Star' on here which I thinks nothing short of brilliant but I don't know whether this would be everbody's cup of tea as it's a tad hard.

Remix Culture 2/93 - Top remix of The Cult's She Sells Santuary done by Phil Kelsey which suprisingly enough is very, very similar to Papua New Guinea by FSOL.

Remix Culture 159 - 2 great remixes by Jimmy Gomez on here, one of Dilemma - In Spirit, the other of Donna Summer - State Of Indepedance.

Also an absolute essential DMC release is a best of triple pack called House Nation Classics which amongst others has got the BIR remix of Eurhythmics - Here Comes The Rain, the Delorme remix of River Ocean - Love & Happiness and the Sasha remix of Jimi Polo - Better Days (although VA I suspect you've got that remix already on DMC 106 along with Expose).

Phew that reply took a while :fekked:

is there any chance i could get a mp3 of sasha remix
I'd do you a rip but my Sound Foundry's shagged and it comes up with a message when I try saving as mp3. My mates got another cracked copy though so when I get round to re-installing I'll give you a shout.

I've got quite a few of these. The one that I still dig out from time to time is Underground Selection 4/92. Parkside Remix of Eleanore Mills - Mr Right, Robertsons Mix of Coco Steel and Love Bomb, Bump Mix of Deja Vu - Move Your Waistline, and the Nick Fiorucci mix of Bump - I'm Rushin. Everyone a winner for me.

I got lucky in some moody secondhand shop and picked up 20 of these DMC jobs for 50p each. When I asked how much they were, the dumbass behind the counter asked me if they were from the sale bin! Like feck they were, but I weren't going to be paying top dollar for them if I could help it. They were new then too. :axe:

@OldskoolDazed: I think I've got that Sasha remix kicking about on a one of those Radio pressing type bootlegs somewhere, I'll dig it out if you like?

DMC 150 - That's deffo got the tip top Blue Amazon remix of Seal, although it's the BIR remix of Bruce Hornsby on there that does it for me. It's also got a very decent Merlyn & The 6 Wicked Kids remix of (wait for it) Scatman's World by Scatman John!

Incidentally this particular little triple pack is the most I've ever paid for a record - £35.

I used to be a right sad completist b*st*rd and bought quite a few of these. My own favourite was the delorme mix of river ocean - love and happiness.....classic hands in the air piano house. And...hmm....that Jimi Polo remix was ok too....
