I know shooms is selling some vinyl for the Japan earthquake fund:)thumbsup: ) and it got me thinking that i basically do nothing for charity except for buying the odd vinyl and book from second hand shops :( .Surely im not the only 1 on this website whos a self centered git...lol.

Who does do their bit for charity and can ya explain the feeling ya get.Its sounds really horrible in what i tend to do concerning charity work but i think in my opinion im a really nice person, dont thieve, will help freinds, hold a job and a good family person.Even if i can do just 1 thing this year im determined to donate or even help a charity.

I even have clothes just lying around and never even contemplate in donating them .Day off work tuesdeay determined to do my bit.......:)

I have done Orange Rockcorps for the last 2 years where you get tickets for Gigs after doing charity work- also going to do the great North Run in September for BUPA in aid of a friend who died this year of a herat attack- i could do more i suppose- its finding the time !

Do take old clothes to charity shops too no point in binning them

Rockorps was a brilliant expierence and in training for the half marathon all ready :)

I teach English to the immigrant population here in Genoa, Italy. It's a mixed class of South Americans, Chinese, North Africans...I do a few hours a week off my own back, very satisfying. Great classes and we have a good laugh, so much better than the serious lessons!!

I donate each month to Childline through Give As You Earn.

I also collect my spare 1p and 2p pieces and then throw them in the till at one of the local charity shops when my collecting box is full.

I also do any DJ work for charity completely free.

I have also helped my mum do her bit for charity when she was alive (she did lots) and it is very self satisfying to know that you have helped others worse off than yourself.

I have a monthly direct debit set up with the air ambulance and used to have guilt free sessions buying records in every charity shop I could find as even if a tune is rubbish, you've made a donation.

It's a shame vinyl has gone out of fashion again, but it'll be back:thumbsup:

me and 3 mates are currently in training!! oh dear!! for The Lakeland 50 in July oh dear dear!!
The Lakeland 50 Long Distance Trail Race
we are collecting for Sands (Stillbirth & Neo-natal Death)
weve set up a justgiving page
Kevin Walker is fundraising for Sands, the stillbirth and neonatal death charity

to be honest, apart from record digging in charity shops and the odd sponsor, this is really the first thing ive done for charity

hope some people can help us!, even if its just passing on the link

Its enough to bring a tear to the eye. I always put a bit into the charity boxes at supermarkets, especially ones for the kids. I have found that some people collecting can be very aggressive.
